Passenger Information System
Passengers have increasingly high expectations
In an increasingly connected world, operators and manufacturers must distinguish themselves by offering comfort and safety conditions that meet the new expectations of their passengers for an enjoyable journey.
For public transport users, passenger information is the most important expectation after punctuality.
Offering a fully integrated, connected, reliable and scalable service is the challenge for manufacturers to differentiate themselves and offer a quality service to their passengers.
ACTIA’s solutions help manufacturers take on this challenge.
They comply with the standards EN 50155 and EN 45545.
Passenger Information System (PAPIS) by ACTIA
PACIS control unit server
The PACIS control server is the main control station of a train’s information system. It connects and controls all the equipment dedicated to passenger information and public address. It receives and processes information from the train driver’s cab or from the station control centre.
Monitors and dynamic line map
A super-stretch monitor provides real-time train location for passengers.
Additional information such as the opening of the doors, the connections to the next stations or the direction of descent of the train are displayed. The device is fully adaptable in functionalities and dimensions (up to 2 metres wide) to the needs of the customers.
LED display
The LED display installed on the front of the train provides information to passengers on the platform about the next destination or terminus of the train. Permanently connected to the PACIS server, it receives and updates in real time the information issued by the control room. Adaptable, depending on the vehicle and customer needs, these displays fit perfectly into the vehicle’s ecosystem.
Intercom for passengers
The emergency intercom for passengers enables emergency communication between passengers and on-board personnel or the command centre, simply by pushing a call button.
Sound quality is guaranteed through digital transmission and a built-in echo canceller.

Locution post
The locution posts on the train are used by the personnel for different types of communication:
- Communicate with passengers through intercoms on the trains.
- Make public announcements that will be heard over the train speakers.
- Communicate with the control centre.
